Avoiding Postpartum Depression

Avoiding Postpartum Depression

Today I wanted to do a blog about postpartum, and give some advice on what I do to avoid the depression that can sometimes come with giving birth.

Take Vitamins

I personally prefer vitamins that are organic, and healthy as possible. I will be taking Womens Complete Smarty Pants Vitamins, and it helps as a dietary supplement.

Taking vitamins are very important because after birth your body definitely needs extra vitamins, and minerals.

Having a good multivitamin can help increase your energy levels, improve your mood, reduce stress, anxiety, improve short term memory, and maintain muscle strength.

Eating Healthy

A lot of people know that I eat healthy.  My diet is a organic non gmo diet.

I eat:

  • wild caught fish
  • rice
  • beans
  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • oats
  • whole wheat pastas

I do not eat

  • pork
  • turkey
  • chicken

A healthy well balanced diet is very important for your health, and it provides you with way more energy.

Make Time For Yourself

Whether it’s your shower, or playing your favorite songs. My favorite place happens to be the shower. I set up my Bluetooth speaker jam out to favorite songs, and use my favorite lavender body wash.

I also have a spa bamboo set it comes with exfoliating gloves, back scrubber, and foot brush with a pumice stone. I pretty much have a spa day in my shower, and that makes me happy.

Do Something Nice For Yourself

Do things that help you be confident. Get your nails done, buy cute clothes to compliant your mom body, get your hair done. You definitely deserve it, and shouldn’t feel guilty at all for taking care of yourself. Just because we’re mom’s doesn’t mean we have to let ourselves go. You can be a stylish mom, and great mom at the same time.

Erase Those Negative Thoughts

A lot of postpartum women feel sad, and have comments that aren’t so positive. Replace the negative comments with positive ones.

Being a Mom

Being a mom is probably not something you are used to being. You may have worries about being a mom, and question if you will you be a good one. As long as your giving your all, and doing your very best to take care of your kid(s) your an awesome mom.

Favorite Postpartum Quotes

Let go of the thoughts that don’t make you strong.

What you think of you is more important than what others think of you.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.

You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it.

This site is very helpful, and has a lot of great advice. A doctor recommended this site to me when I went to my postpartum visit after having my oldest daughter years ago.
